Steve Townshend Goodreads Author. This deluxe adventure takes heroes into the ruins of Gardmore Abbey, a monastery that was once the base of a militant order of paladins devoted to Bahamut. According to legend, the paladins brought a dark artifact back from a far crusade and stored it in their abbey for safekeeping, and evil forces gathered to assault the abbey and take it back.

Pick this up even if you are playing 5th edition. It’s worth the time spent converting over to 5th. The environment established around the Abbey is rich and filled with interesting creatures and NPCs. It’s a great adventure that players gardmord spend hours and hours playing and not see it all.
Well worth the time and money. Dec 10, Taddow rated it really liked it. I rather enjoyed this adventure module.
Madness at Gardmore Abbey
The detailed and tragic history of a knightly order dedicated to Bahamut and their fall to the enemy siege when one of their order loses faith and brings their destruction is a rich and intriguing background. There is detailed information on the setting, the important figures the players will interact with and an interesting mechanic with the Deck of Many Things how it affects the players’ battles with the various NPCs.
Perhaps I’ll follow one of the oth I rather enjoyed this adventure module. Perhaps I’ll follow one of the other raters’ advice and convert this to 5th ed.

My only issue a minor one with the module is that it is made up of several short books. It creates a lot of flipping back and forth and I wish that they had just consolidated the information relevant to one encounter together.
