I should mention that this is the third book of a trilogy and I haven’t read the other two; I just found this in a giveaway pile. The storytelling can be tedious, but as a personal thing, it is just enough that it keeps me interested and provides an amazing amount of detail and backstory to bolster the fascination of it.

Preview — Taltos by Anne Rice. Toward the end of the book, I had decided that Anne Rice was on absinthe when she wrote it. The characters and the idea of this book are so out of place compared to 1. Many things boiled down to a back and forth conversation that went on and on and really ending up being something like “I love you. Mona happily decides to have her baby, regardless of whether or not it could be a monster child. I love the way the race of the Taltos is portrayed, and how much we have come to learn of them throughout this series in a completely surprising way from what one would have thought reading the first book.

Carl Alves — author of Blood Street Best known for The Vampire Chroniclesher prevailing thematical focus is on love, death, immortality, existentialism, and the human condition. Sad, I really enjoyed the first two novels. I did not not particularly care for the second book and this third one should have never been published.
Anne Rice’s story telling is magical and interesting, and I always enjoy her novels. All in all, it’s a brilliant anne, and I’ll be going back to rereading TWH as soon as I have the chance.

It isn’t that I didn’t like the ending, I just feel like there was too much left unresolved and the actions of Mona, Rowan and Michael were very uncharacteristic. I need to take a break from Rice right now. A shame because I rate the first book of the series very high, but both sequels didn’t really catch my attention as the first book did.
